Pick your jaws up and collect yourselves. I know the title is crazy exciting! :D  It has 3 of my favourite things in it: chocolate, cheesecake, and truffles!!

It all started when we went over to my girlfriend’s for dinner not too long ago. The food was fab. The company great..but the food!! Melt-in-your-mouth chicken skewers on the BBQ, copious amounts of different kinds of meats, 3 salads {one of which will be shared with you here because it’s that good!}, rice, pasta, grilled veggies…I should’ve taken a picture of that spread. Maybe I’ll have her recreate the exact same menu so I can take a pic..and then eat everything all over again! See I’m lucky because not only are my friends amazing, they happen to be foodies too! :’)  *insert tear drop*

We had each brought something from home for dessert. I’d made my Nanaimo Squares, another friend brought in fruits. But this one friend, whose dessert inspired this post, brought these homemade delectable things. {if you’re reading this, thank you Rima.} No one really knew what they were but we all wanted to try them (especially me!)

My friends know I don’t eat foods my kids are allergic to and they’re very respectful of that, so there’s no expectation or pressure to eat from off-limits foods. It’s a choice I’d made the second we found out about Munsur’s allergies. The same applied with Sofia. Our house is free of all their food allergens. It’s peace of mind more than anything, plus my philosophy on why I do this is simple: I want my kids to feel comfortable in their own home. They’re already exposed on a daily basis to the very foods they aren’t allowed to eat. So when they go back to their home, it’s their haven. Not just mine and my husband’s. They know they can open the fridge and grab whatever they want to eat without hesitation. They know to open the cupboards and snack on whatever they please. It’s a worry-free, stress-free, safe environment for my children {and us too}. My kids also love to eat from our plates and I can’t imagine having to tell them not to touch my food or freak out if my fork touched their plate. Frankly, I don’t need the added stress. Less stress means more time to enjoy with family and friends.

Back to the amazing delectable things. They turned out to be Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Truffles…OMG. Amazing!! I had to sneak in a truffle while my kids were playing with their friends, but honestly it was probably one of the best things about that night. You bite into it with ease, then you encounter a pleasant crunch from the chocolate chips which are hidden inside the truffles. Wow! It was a welcomed surprise. You have both elements of soft and hard, and a multitude of flavours and textures to please your palate. I was so glad I had one because I knew I wanted to recreate it for my family and the rest of you to enjoy!
